 My thesis is about one of the famous director An Lee. An Lee, a famous director in Taiwan. In life of high school, he don't like his education anymore. Of course, he fail his important examination in few time. Even though he is not good in study, but he have a dream, a dream to be a film director. After he concentrate in film study, his life totally change. From this side, we knowing that An Lee is one of the person that be brave to capture his dream. No matter you come from any way, as long as you have a dream, you must be brave and motivate to capture your dream. Its alert every people must have a dream. An Lee live in superior family and his educate of family is very stern and traditional. Last time, he did a decision which make his father feeling angry. That is give up to other courses and select Art film department of drama. Because of this thing, he doesn't have a good relationship with his father long time ago. 1978, An Lee study at American and he have a flying result on that time. After that he continue his education at New York. During his education, he actually did a few works and some of the work got good comment from audience. From this position, we can analysis that Ann Lee is very persist in film study, when he make a decision he will walk through to his destination. He is very independence, because he leave his home and walk through to different country to increase his knowledge and education.He work on American and creating his script during 6 years. During this period he research about the format and concept of script writing, and he want to convert Chinese and American culture together to become a new revolution of story. He work at home and become a "househusband" too. He need to rely on his wife to continue their everyday of life. 1990, he finish a script which call "Pushing Hands", this script is getting award and money award from Taiwan. 1992, he first time to become a film director to directing "Pushing Hand". This movie is getting 8 award from Taiwan and others award. 1993, he getting a change to direct his second movie "The Wedding Banquet". This movie is about the traditional culture. He make a research to different culture of family's point of view about be sexual and homosexual. He getting good comment and award from few famous group and awards ceremony. In 1994, he directing his third movie, "Eat Drink Man Woman", this movie is obtain good comment from audience too. After that he continuously to directing other movie. From this side, we know that Ann Lee is a guy who love movie so much, strong and standing still. Because from Chinese culture, if a man need to rely on wife for living that is not a good husband, but he don't even care how others look down on him or even look down on him, he will take them as driving force. He success to exposure his dream, because he directing few movie during few year.  2009 February 20, he is in finalist of "election of 50 great director" in American's magazine "Entertainment Weekly". Nows day, he is one of the good example for student who study in film and movie.

An Lee did a lot films, among the most representative is 1982 "Shady Lakeside", 1991 "Pushing Hands", 1993 " The Wedding Banquet", 1994 "Eat Drink Man Woman", 1995 "Sense and Sensibility", 1997 "The Ice Storm", 1999 "Ride with the Devil", 2000 "Crouching Tiger", 2001 "Choice", 2003 "Hulk", 2005 "Brokeback Mountain", 2007 "Lust, Caution", 2009 "Woodstock", 2012 "Youth of Pi" and etc. But in different periods, he have different feeling. When his one of the movie "Wedding Banquet, didn't come up with the Oscar, but he just unrestrained to feel that quite relax and free from anxiety, he feel that his life to return to be normal and can relax to focus his work. If he won, he will been very excited for awhile, and then the stressful would be coming. Maybe its sound like "make himself down the steps" or "grape is sour, when you cant eat them". But if you think deeply, his sentence got a point. Exactly too much of fame will make you more stress, clam state of mind to face everything in your life. The night before he fly off to Los Angele, he manage to take off a time to manage to cook for his childs to prevent his childs wont be hungry during his flight. Once he return to Taiwan, firstly he going to make hundred of dumpling, and freeze them, so that his childs and wife can eat them over the course of his absence. An Lee is stubborn. An Lee persistent on his work. In "Wedding Banquet", An Lee want to find a old woman who look like venerable, the workers went to a more retirement home and find more than 100 old women, but non of them as his expectation. Until one of the day, An Lee's wife finding one of the old woman and An Lee acceptable for it. In the movie, the old woman only appearence for several second.

About the Movie

[[A Touch of Sin]] is one of the movie direct and written by Jia Zhangke. Jiang Wu, Zhao Tao and Wang Baoqiang are starring in this movie. Yu Lik-Wai as a cinematographer. The release time for the movie is 17 May 2013 and the running time for the movie is around 135 minutes. Mandarin has been select as the language for this movie. [[A Touch of Sin]] is converting  4 story together and presenting as one by one. Those 4 stories are happening in different place in China and every sections have a main character. Director through some thread to make a nice transition for these 4 stories.

Introduction of characters

-JiangWu as a “DaHai”, one of the villager who furying to the rich and powerful guy. Because the rich guys is encroach on his village’s coal mine. He try to write a complain letter and main to getting some help from government. But he cant send it, because he don’t know the complete address for sending the letter, than he giving up to send the letter. He trying to provoking the rich guy, because of this he beat up by a groups of peoples. “DaHai”   keep bully by peoples; this is one of the reason to make him be a avenger. He is getting out his own short gun to killing the people who annoying him. He is smiling , after he killing those peoples.

-Wang Baoqiang as “SanEr”. He is a “cold blood” robber with one gun. One of the day, he went back to hometown to cerebrating the Chinese New Year. His parents, wife, child and etc doesn’t feeling any surprise and having giving  bigger respond since he is coming back to home and SanEr doesn’t have a good relationship with family. His wife hoping him to stay at home and have a normal life with them, but SanEr rejecting it. He would rather his wife to remarry or divorce to him. After that, he doesn’t have any melancholy and continue his journey.

-Zhao Tao as “XiaoYue”. She falling in love with one of the guy who had married. And she is waiting for the guy to make a decision between her and his wife. Once day, she beat up by group of peoples who leading by the guy’s wife. In a great rush, she hiding in truck. Se feeling annoyed about her life. XiaoYue is work as receptionist at sauna. One of the day, when she finish her work and she plan to go back home. But there are two customers requesting to her about the massage service. She reject the unreasonable request to the customers. His reaction is furying the customers and finally she beat up by the both customers. Be driven beyond, she holding a fruit knife and killing both customers.

-Luo LanShan as a “XiaoHui”. A worker at one of the production factory. During his working hour he disturbing his friend and make him in accident. He run away from the factory to TongWan and having a job in nightclub. In the nightclub, he make friend with one of the girl who work same as him. XiaoHui mind to living to her together, but unexpected she is a mother of three childrens. XiaoHui changing his work and work at other place; it’s a production factory too. One day, he receives a call from his mother and he having a quarrel with his mother about the money. Than, his friend who working together with him at previous factory are avenge to him. He feeling annoying and depressed, finally he decided suicide which jumping from top of the flat.
